Building IM bots is not easy. Parsing plain text for possible commands is not really great to do. Ad-hoc commands could solve that partially, and something like this for publishing would actually be pretty flexible, unlike what @tobiasfar seems to think. @constatine: integration is not my goal. Interoperation is. And the technologies I propose allow that and way more. I think it is the common method you aim for. Oh, and I did think about that a year ago already :-) -

Right. My first goal is to come up with open specs for exchanging information in social networks. E.g. Tweets and Jaikus can be nicely represented by Atom entries. Actually a lot of social objects can be modelled using Atom entries. Comments can also be put in Atom entries, using the Atom threading extension (RFC 4685). (...)
