Looking for a nice portable music player. Contemplating the Cowon D2. Any opinions, dear lazyku?

i got a samsung (should check the model nam). 4GB space, pure
usb connectivity (so you can use it also as an usb key; i.e. no
itunes or other crappy programs needed to access it), radio and
voice recording. headphones have really nice audio quality.
Check out iAudio U3. It has OGG, FLAC and FM support. Also
there's a pretty nice voice recorder. I have a 2GB version for a
about 1,5year and I really like it. AFAIK there's also 4GB
model.
@vardo: Yeah, I saw that
one, too, but as it has been discontinued as it is already quite
old. Also, the D2 appears to have more features, for a lower price
tag, among which an SDHC slot. I also looked at the iAudio 7, which
I think is comparable with your U3?
I think iAudio 7 is pretty much like my U3. Two differences I've
spotted (that would be disadvantages for me): 1) it's bigger than
U3 (heavier a little bit); 2) it does not have joystick-driven
control, which I love because you can easily operate player without
looking at it. On the other hand iAudio 7 plays can play music 3x
longer. Generally, take COWON players - great sound, great features
and the they're not so expensive.
One more thing: I do a lot of running so I like U3 for being
relatively small (and flash-driven). Maybe you have other needs,
like playing movies. In such case I would probably take D2.
@vardo: yeah, I'm not into
running, except for catching a train. That form factor of the U3
and the iAudio 7, that appears similar, is very good. But the D2
looks pretty small, too. I don't care too much for video, but I did
like the extensibility through SDHC. So I am a bit undecided
between the 7 and the D2, leaning towards the latter, for now.

, if you don't really care about size I would take D2. Bigger screen and card reader are big pros here, I think.
